Jesse Wade

Hi, I'm Jesse. I am a professional musician and teacher out of the North Chicago Suburbs. 

I graduated from Ball State University with a specialized degree in Classical and Jazz performance, with emphasis in jazz pedagogy. After graduation I traveled the world as a cruise ship musician, performing for hundreds of thousands of people in over 15 countries.

I am currently a member of over 5 bands and music ensembles, performing frequently in the Chicago area.

My philosophy in teaching music involves incorporating improvisation from the very beginning; teaching students to create music, rather than simply reproduce it. Students will learn how to play and compose in a wide range of styles while still maintaining a strong foundation in classical fundamentals.

I teach a wide range of instruments. I currently offer lessons in:

·Advanced music theory and composition

·Electronic music and synthesis

Many of my students begin on piano at an early age, then either switch over to a wind instrument, or continue on both.

After sufficient experience is gained on their instrument, my students have the option to join one of my student bands, which involves playing original music and community performances.
